Prevention Educator-Voices in Prevention

Due to expansion, Tubman is seeking one Full-Time Prevention Educator to join our Voices in Prevention team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be providing and fostering opportunities for inspirational, interactive, and informative education about healthy relationships and youth leadership development in area schools, shelters and other community-based settings.   • Provide education and facilitation of healthy relationships curriculum and services to develop youth leadership skills
  • Promote well-being of youth by helping students and school faculty navigate relevant resources and information
  • Engage in marketing, outreach, evaluation, and content development to continuously incorporate perspectives of youth served
  • Promote trusting relationships with clients and other providers
  • Foster goal attainment through effective engagement with communities served Uphold professional boundaries and client-centered approach
  • Manage data entry and reporting to meet goals and deadlines


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, youth development, human services or equivalent years of experience
  • Experience and knowledge of ways to access services through use of technology Two years direct service experience related to violence, including sexual exploitation and gangs
  • Ability to engage diverse youth, parents, school faculty, and families in activities that promote healthy relationships and goal attainment
  • Ability to foster an inclusive and responsive environment for all ethnic backgrounds, abilities, and genders
  • Experience and proficiency in the coordination of data to include client case management, summary reports, and other related assignments
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and as a team Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 2 years group facilitation or case management experience with diverse youth from historically marginalized communities
  • Openness to work with a wide range of relevant community resources or providers, including law enforcement
  • Reliable transportation and a good driving record


Preferred Candidate

  • Experience working with social and community services in collaborative or system-change efforts
  • Ability to speak more than one language
