Welcome to the Express Good Blog

Welcome! We’re so glad you’re here and are happy that you’re a part of leading positive changes in your community to help violence. We’ve been active in partnerships with the schools since 1991 and rely on people like you to help keep positive changes going!

Lots of our work over the years has been informed by and developed with youth in the communities we serve and we could not do this work without you! If there’s an issue that you’re passionate about, or if you’ve got a great idea to share, let us know by sending us an e-mail at teens@tubman.org! We really enjoy supporting students as they demonstrate their endless creativity and leadership skills.

Want to get involved, but not sure how? Each month, we host leadership courses, called Movement for Violence Prevention (MVP) that help you build your leadership skills to create change within your communities. Courses are held at Tubman’s locations about once a month, but if you can’t wait that long, you can also e-mail us and we can come to you.

February is also Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month! Another easy way to get involved is by entering our 9th Annual Poster and Video Contest! It’s open to middle and high school students, and cash prizes are involved for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. We’re accepting submissions now until February 28th.

However you decide to get involved, whether it’s learning about healthy relationships and talking to your friends and family, joining MVP to create change in your community, or something else entirely, we’re excited that you’re here. We can’t wait for you to share all of the great things that you’ll do with us. Remember, your definition about ways to prevent violence matters!
