  • Tubman East, Tubman West, Tubman Chrysalis
    Resource Counseling Advocates are responsible for providing crisis intervention, supportive counseling, general information, and referral services to individuals who call or come into Tubman.

  • Tubman East
    This position is ideal for someone who is looking to further their experience of crisis intervention, direct service, and advocacy in the setting of a residential shelter. Working one-on-one with individuals and families, Adult & Family Advocates foster a trusting relationship with our clients to encourage peaceful relationships and goal attainment.

  • Tubman East, Tubman West, Tubman Chrysalis
    Help care for little ones while their parents attend counseling, support groups, or access other services. Assisting with the direct care of infants and children, Child Care Assistants implement developmentally appropriate learning opportunities and practice conflict resolution to maintain a peaceful, happy and safe atmosphere.

    An expedited training for Child Care and Harriet's Closet volunteers will be held on March 1st at Tubman East. Contact Katie Massie for more information.

  • Tubman West
    Help make a kid’s summer fun! Day Camp Counselors/Youth Advocates in Tubman’s Peace Camp help organize fun activities and field trips for children currently living in our shelters. Supervise outdoor, playground games and crafts. Provide respite childcare and spend time with kids going through a time of transition. Gain experience in child and youth advocacy and early intervention with children.

  • The Legal Services Intern is responsible for assisting Legal Services Staff with office projects including data entry, filing and tracking content, copy, and assembling materials and packets.

  • The Legal Counseling Advocate assists clients and attorneys at legal advice clinics focusing on divorce, child custody and other family law issues. Provide services that enable individuals to better navigate the legal system and community resources. Weeknight or Friday morning availability needed.

  • Tubman East and West
    Personal Shoppers work one-on- one with community members and Tubman clients as they shop for and select casual and business-professional attire, offering a fun, personal experience and empowering support.

  • The Legal Counseling Advocate for Tubman’s Self-Represented Legal Clinic is responsible for assisting volunteer attorneys with providing pro se assistance and some legal services such as drafting of court documents, coaching on how to file paperwork, preparation for court appearances, etc. to low-income clients. This is a different position than a Legal Counseling Advocate.

  • Tubman East and Tubman West
    Do you want to get involved by fostering positive change in the lives of people who have experienced domestic violence? Support Group Facilitators provide a safe, confidential, and welcoming space for Tubman clients and community members.
