  • This position is ideal for someone who is looking to further their experience of crisis intervention, direct service, and advocacy in the setting of a residential shelter. Working one-on-one with individuals and families, Adult & Family Advocates foster a trusting relationship with our clients to encourage peaceful relationships and goal attainment.

  • Tubman East, Tubman West, Tubman Chrysalis Center

    Resource Counseling Advocates are responsible for providing crisis intervention, supportive counseling, general information, and referral services to individuals who call or come into Tubman.

    This position may be combined with either Personal Shopper in Harriet’s Closet, Child Care Assistant, or Youth Outreach Center Advocate at Maplewood Mall to fulfill academic internship hour requirements.

    As part of Tubman's Development and Communications team, the Grant Writing Intern will help research grant opportunities, assist in writing proposals and reports, while gaining valuable skills in grant writing in a non-profit organization.
    Time commitment to this position is a minimum of 6 months.

  • The Graphic Design Project Volunteer collaborates with a team to complete graphic design of Tubman’s Annual Report, with both print and online components, to share valuable information about the agency with stakeholders, community members, and more. This project has meaningful impact throughout the year and a broad community reach, and it could be used in personal graphic design portfolios.

  • Tubman Chrysalis - FILLED UNTIL AUGUST 2019

    The Safety Project Intern assists Tubman’s Safety Project staff in providing free representation for low income, domestic violence victims seeking attorneys for Orders for Protection and providing assistance for staff with administrative tasks, data entry, and communications.

  • Tubman Chrysalis - FILLED UNTIL MAY 2019

    The Paralegal Intern assists Tubman’s legal department with projects such as drafting client correspondence and court documents, screening prospective legal clients, and administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and research.

  • Tubman East, Tubman West

    Collaborating with staff to support youth whose families have experienced violence, sexual assault, exploitation, stalking, and/or harassment, our Youth and Family Advocates are responsible for providing individualized supportive services and comprehensive advocacy to children, youth, and families currently living at Tubman’s shelters and Transitional Housing.
