2013 Femicide Report

On January 28, Minnesota Coalition for Battered Women released the
2013 Femicide Report, providing annual documentation on intimate partner homicides across the state of Minnesota.

In 2013, at least 24 women and 7 men were murdered in Minnesota by their current or former spouse or partner, and 6 friends or family members were murdered in domestic violence related situations. 57% of those murder victims lived in Tubman’s primary service area of
Washington, Ramsey, and Hennepin Counties.

The 25th release of the Femicide Report memorializes the 37 Minnesotans known to be killed due to domestic violence in 2013. Today, and every day, we raise the flag in their memory.

The National Network to End Domestic Violence, in partnership with Facebook, created a unique and helpful guide for survivors of abuse so that you can still use Facebook but maintain safety and control over your information.
